By Daniel Oldfield, Edmonton, Canada. October 8, 2024.

The Sierra Leone Association of Alberta (SLAA) is inaugurating its new executive with a new president and vice-president on Saturday October 12, 2024.

Edmontonians, Albertans, and Canadians, are you ready? The association (SLAA) presents their much anticipated  inauguration ceremony of the community's new president Foday Conteh and VP Martha Kabba and the new executive.

Come this Saturday evening, October 12, 2024, all roads will lead to the SLAA Multi Purpose Centre on 17218 107 Ave. NW, Edmonton. AB. Canada, commencing at 7:00pm for the big event.

This comes a month after the very successful swearing-in ceremony September 7, 2024 at the same venue, this Thanksgiving weekend though, promises to be with a difference.

In light of the above Chairman DANIEL OLDFIELD'S CORNER, in collaboration with ARUNA PEPE BLOG, met and held discussions with President-elect Foday Conteh and VP-elect Mrs. Martha Kabba to discuss the future of the Sierra Leone community in Alberta.

The discussions centered around the confusion within the community about suspected looming legal battles, which culminated after the successful SLAA community election on August 10, 2O24, contested by some members of the former executive.

Ladies and Gentlemen children all, take a listen as to how the discussions unfolded, during when the two very focused community leaders, took their time to explain the situation.

In spite of the current uneasiness, they urged community members to stay calm, assuring them all will be well at the end of the day, with prospects of a brighter future.
