The weekend vibes are here – the Golden Child on holidays in Montreal, APC fundraising dinner in Winnipeg, Adebayor’s calling for an upraising in Sierra Leone, SALNAM financial report  in the question of the day, plus lots more. You're about to read another neck-breaking edition of “Behind the Scenes". This column is the radical thoughts of one guy called Lans Omar aka the “Golden Child” - born and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Let's do this: Hey fellas, I’m in Montreal, Canada, on holidays – trust it’s a beautiful city, if you think Toronto is fly, come to Canada’s French wonder city – Montreal. Anyways, that’s not the gist for now, the gist for the moment is that I’ll have all the latest news dropping out in real time so you guys know exactly what’s going on in the community and beyond. I miss Winnipeg but I’m here with my pretty woman and my daughter Ms. Maryam, chilling and having some great moment and just busy enjoying good times with the fam.

Switching gears: APC Manitoba Chapter Inc. is hosting a fundraising dinner today Saturday October 28, 2023 at the Atiga Restaurant, 329 William Avenue, Winnipeg, Canada. The event commences at 6:00pm this evening and the cover charge is $25/person. I briefly talked to some members of the organization in Manitoba, and I’ve been informed that the fundraising dinner is to raise funds for the organization in Manitoba and all proceeds will go towards the development of APC in Manitoba. I was also at Atiga Restaurant earlier this week, I spoke to the co-owner Abigail Yamba, she had mentioned that the menu will be loaded with lots of delicious foods and also beverages will be available at the cash bar. Next stop: I was relaxing and sipping on some drink in my hotel room in Montreal when I got a call from a colleague in Boston, Mass., that I should go listen to Adebayor’s audio of yesterday Friday October 27, 2023. I told him to hang up the phone because I don’t listen to Adebayor or any Sierra Leonean political comedian but he insisted that I do even if this is the very last time.

I opened up my colleague’s whatsapp and I listened with total disbelief as Adebayor was rambling incoherently for an upraising against SLPP to a point of calling for another war in the country again; Adeboayor is not serious. After listening, I called my colleague and let him know that this is a comedy and people shouldn’t take his comedy seriously. If Adebayor is seriously serious about an upraising or a war in Sierra Leone, he should be the first to jump into a plane, get a gun and lead the battalion of fighters to State Avenue, Tower Hill, Freetown, where President Bio goes every weekday and start the war there, right? Oona lef me, oona all nor serious.

Question: Hey fellas, when is the SALNAM quarterly financial report going to be out? There was an annual general meeting last Sunday but I’m not sure why the executive is still holding back on giving the community’s annual report. Onna lef oh.

Finally: Again, the weekend is here! I’m here in Montreal, super fun city. The APC dinner is going down tonight at Abigail’s Atiga Restaurant at 6:00pm, tickets for the dinner is $25.00. I'll not bein attendance but I'm having super fun time here.

Fellas, the weekend is here, I saw on the news that it’s snowing in Winnipeg, Canada – lol. Montreal is still warm with me only wearing t-shirts and shorts going around. Again, you know the rules, if you’re driving, don’t drink – if you’re drinking, don’t drive.
