The weekend vibes are here – prayers for a Sierra Leonean brother hospitalized at the HSC, Jagaban and Samura united, Da Golden Child off to London, UK, for the Afro Arts Productions Awards Nite 2023, Mohamed Konneh in the question of the day, plus lots more. You're about to read another bone-cracking edition of “Behind the Scenes". This column is the radical thoughts of one guy called Lans Omar aka the “Golden Child” - born and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Let's do this: Calling on all prayer warriors in your respective religions in the Sierra Leone community in Winnipeg, Canada, to pray for a young Sierra Leonean man in Winnipeg, Canada, who’s visiting this country. He is very sick and currently hospitalized at the Health Science Nuclear Medicine unit for medical illness. The young man has only been in the country for three months. Please include him in your prayers for a speedy recovery. He was on life support and gradually off that and making a little bit of progress but still calling on prayers warriors for help.
Switching gears: As if it’s a soccer/football team – Jagaban and Samura Kamara united! Salone nor to serious country at all. Two days ago, Sheik Mohamed Kamara aka "Jagaban", aka “money bundle” and Samura Kamara had a meeting to discuss the future of APC and national progress. The meeting itself was about unity, peace, and for Salone and they both tabulated some pros and cons for the All Peoples Party (APC) aiming at Winning the 2028 presidential elections, lol. De guy dem both nor serious.Both Jagaban and Kamara settled their political differences that day but I’m not even sure why these men should even meet in the first place and what good is their unity got to do with anyone, not even their political party; just waste of time and resources.
Next stop: On Monday November 20, 2023, I’ll be landing in London, UK, to join the production crew for the production of the most awaited Sierra Leone entertainment event of 2023 - the Afro Arts Productions Awards Nite 2023. Officially dubbed “The Sierra Leone Grammys”, the event is taking place on Friday November 24, 2023 in London, UK.In less than two weeks from today, London, UK, will be the Mecca of Sierra Leonean celebrities from across the world. The year’s star-studded event is loaded with top Sierra Leonean and West African performing artists. For the past three decades, this crew has been producing the greatest Sierra Leonean performing arts on earth. If you’ve never been to any of the Afro Arts Productions’ events, trust, you’ve never seen anything sensationally entertaining in the Sierra Leone diaspora communities.
Question: This is just a quick one: Is Mohmed Konneh going to be the National Electoral Commissioner (NEC Boss) for the 2028 presidential elections in Sierra Leone? APC, oona kushe oh…. Lol.Finally: Again, the weekend is here! Pretty much some quiet weekend for me, I'm home chilling with my wife but the Israeli genocide of Palestinian women and children is so bothering me to a point that I can't do anything entertaining this weekend - please, we are calling for a cease fire,
