Let's do this: The Sierra Leone Association of Alberta (SLAA), Canada, is holding its presidential election on August 10th, 2024 for a new president after Dr. Abu Conteh's tenure of office. Two candidates FODAY CONTEH and MARIAMA TURAY are vying for the hot seat to replace the out-going president who's close to end of his second and final term. I'm gathering information from the two campaign managers of both candidates as to what to expect on election day. stay tuned onthis.
Switching gears: A date for the celebrations of the lives of Ezekiel Bamike Parker & Hannah Ayodele Parker has been set for July 12, 2025 (next year) in Toronto, Canada. Mr. & Mrs. Ezekiel Parker were vibrant members of the Sierra Leone community in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and the family later relocated to Toronto, Canada. Few years ago, Mr. Parker answered to the call of the Almighty Lord, and just a year and half later Mrs. Parker also answered the same call. I spoke to the eldest son of the Parkers in Toronto, Vivian Parker, he told me that a save the date poster has been sent out and a formal invitation to follow for the celebrations of their parents.
Next stop: First Lady Fatima “Gucci” Bio say leh oona nor mix am pan big dance nar tight palar. The TicTok First Lady was responding to rumours that she might be vying for the Sierra Leone presidential election 2028. Madam Bio took this to her TikTic and Facebook platforms addressing the people that she not interested in that position and she’s just fine like a fine wine with where she’s right now. Case closed, Oona lef the woman ya.
Question: How is run away/self-exiled president EBK doing in Nigeria?
Finally: Again, the weekend is here! It’s Caribana long weekend in Toronto! Yeah, I’m here right here in Toronto cris-crossing the city and ready to hit the parade soon. Toronto Caribana parade is the biggest street festival in North American that attracts over 2 million people every year. If you’re in the city, please hit me up.
Fellas, if you’re partying over the weekend, remember it’s August long weekend and the police check stops are all over the place. Also, remember the rules, right? Drinking alcohol and driving is strictly forbidden not only in Manitoba but all across Canada, just so you know.
