Sierra Leone Football Association Upgrades Approved School Playing Ground

Residents of the east of Freetown were pleasantly surprised on the 1st of February this year, when the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Mr. Thomas Daddy Brima (pictured) and team drove to the Approved School Playing Ground and presented an artificial turf, flood lights, perimeter fence and other facilities to football stakeholders of the Approve School community and its environs.

The scene at the Approved School field was marked with wild jubilation and appreciation from football lovers who were predominantly youths and young adults.

In a random interview with some of the jubilant youths and young adults, they revealed that they are in a jubilant mood because this is the first time in the history of football that easterners will enjoy a state-of-the-art artificial turf under the dynamic leadership of the SLFA President Mr. Thomas Daddy Brima.

Football stakeholders of Approved School community recalled that when Mr. Thomas Daddy Brima was fighting tooth and nail for the SLFA Presidency, he had reiterated severally that one among the things he wanted to achieve was for the game of football to be played everywhere in Sierra Leone. This project, this medium was told, will kick start anytime soonest.

Football stakeholders of Approved School are also longing for more development in the area of infrastructures and facilities for the East end of Freetown.

According to stakeholders, the East end of Freetown has and continues to produce many outstanding football players regardless of the fact that they are heavily deprived of adequate infrastructures and facilities for the game to strive.

Thomas Daddy Brima
